Importing player vs player fixtures

Is it possible to imports player vs player fixtures? I set the Sportspress event settings default mode to player vs player, created a csv files with the home and away fields containing the names of players who already exist in our Sportspress setup, and imported the fixtures. What happened was that for each player appearing in the csv, Sportspress created a team of that name, and when I look at any of the imported events, they have been imported with the mode as team vs team.

I have to manually edit each event to change the mode to player vs player, click the Update button, and then add the players under Teams. this takes quite a bit of time. Is there any way to get player vs player fixtures to import as such?
