Hi. When I enable the option to open lightbox when an image is clicked on, this only works in Masonry view, in any other view, clicking on an image opens the image file, no lightbox. Occasionally when you then press the browser back key the lightbox will then open, most odd, computers don’t do occasionally. You don’t always want to use the Masonry view therefore this isn’t the answer to the issue. Thanks

If I use Masonry then the lightbox works fine, any other view it doesn’t.? When you click on an image it looks like a very quick lightbox is displayed and then it jumps to the image URL.? It happens so quick it’s hard to be certain this is what I see.

Hi,

Please post the gallery with a Thumbnails view, and if you still have an issue with opening a Linghtbx there, provide the link to the page where the gallery is published.

Hello,

In Thumbnails view the lightbox is still broken. Clicking on an image will open the image url page, press the browser back button will open the image in lightbox. Here’s the page -> https://staging.series2club.co.uk/technical-pictures-debug-broken/

I have a second page for you, the same gallery settings apart from it’s using Masonry, click on an image and it opens in lightbox straight away, as expected -> https://staging.series2club.co.uk/technical-pictures-debug-working/

Any ideas why lightbox only opens in Masonry view?

Hi,

Thank you for confirming that. We’re sorry for the trouble.

This problem might be a conflict with another plugin on your website. Do you recall installing a plugin or changing an option in your theme lately?

Please try to deactivate the rest of your plugins and check the gallery Lightbox. See whether the problem persists then as well.

Also, if possible, please temporarily switch the theme of your website and see if the issue occurs.

You can re-activate the plugins and change the theme back again after troubleshooting.

Please inform us of the results.

Does this help you narrow down what’s going wrong?? Unless it’s Elementor causing the issue (I don’t think it will be as others don’t have this problem) I think we can safely say it’s not a conflicting?plugin issue.

Hello,

In addition to my video in my last post I have noticed some URLs for the same gallery, the first is showing the images as ’tiles’, the URL is:

https://WEBSITE/technical-pictures-debug-working/

When I click on an image it opens fullscreen, no lightbox or any control like the left or right arrows or the close cross. The URL changes to the URL of the image in wp-content:

https://WEBSITE/wp-content/uploads/photo-gallery/0-9/109_back_brakes_tech_archive.jpg?bwg=1690541881

I then change the gallery to display ‘Masonry’. Reload the page, the URL is the same as the first URL above. BUT, when I click on the same image the lightbox opens as expected, the URL is:

https://WEBSITE/technical-pictures-debug-working/#bwg16/20271

You can see when in Masonry view the URL is very different when the image is clicked on. Interestingly, when the gallery is in Tile view (i.e. lightbox doesn’t work), if I manually change the URL to https://WEBSITE/technical-pictures-debug-working/#bwg16/20271 then the lightbox does appear.

Why does the URL change when you change gallery from Tile to Masonry and lightbox is set to open in global settings?
