• Hi there!
    For quite a while my installation of Simple Facebook Connect is broken.

    The setup:
    * WordPress 3.0.1
    * Simple Facebook Connect 0.21
    * Offline Permission granted
    * Publish Permission granted
    * Publish Permission granted for fan page

    The problem:
    When I publish a new blog post I get the error message below on an otherwise blank screen. The post is not being sent to Facebook. However, it is published on the blog.

    Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'FacebookRestClientException' with message 'Session key invalid or no longer valid' in /path/removed/for/post/wp-content/plugins/simple-facebook-connect/facebook-platform/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php:3112 Stack trace: #0 /path/removed/for/post/wp-content/plugins/simple-facebook-connect/facebook-platform/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php(926): FacebookRestClient->call_method('facebook.stream...', Array) #1 /path/removed/for/post/wp-content/plugins/simple-facebook-connect/sfc-publish.php(371): FacebookRestClient->stream_publish(NULL, '{"name":"Facebo...', '[{"text":"Share...', NULL, '102335746471594') #2 /path/removed/for/post/wp-content/plugins/simple-facebook-connect/sfc-publish.php(286): sfc_publish_automatic(2995, Object(stdClass)) #3 /path/removed/for/post/wp-includes/plugin.php(395): sfc_publish_auto_check('publish', 'draft', Object(stdClass)) #4 /path/removed/for/post/wp-includes/post.php(2 in /path/removed/for/post/wp-content/plugins/simple-facebook-connect/facebook-platform/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php on line 3

    If later on I click the “Publish on Facebook”-Button, things work out as expected.

    Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    Update!
    The problem above could be solved by deleting all the cookies in my browser.
    However, the posts still are not being published on Facebook automatically.

    Problem sovled!
    I created a new application on Facebook and updated the settings in SFC. Then I had to grant Offline-Permission and Facebook-Permission again and now it all seems to be working.

    But if anybody know a better way to fix this, you are welcome to let us know!

    I’m having the same problem. Can you please explain how and where you set those permissions?

    @wwalker
    For me it was on /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sfc in WordPress backend and then go to the section which says ?Publish Settings?. Click those buttons and follow the process.

    If you still have troubles, delete your cookies and set up a new FB application. Then update the data in Simple Facebook Connect and re-apply the permissions.

    Hope this helps!
