While typing this I will do my best to remove ALL payment methods hoping Woo can’t charge me again, any company with ONLY tickets as support is a scam folks. I set up a store via Gelato, then used Woo via WordPress to have a storefront.

I had to test sales, so I bought a calendar, when it Gelato refused it I tried a second time until I figured out the problem & bought the correct calendar. Gelato has a way to cancel those Test orders, so I did, yet never received a refund. I had no other way not to lose all of that money, so I dipusted it with the card charged and explained it was my own store.

I now receive an email from Woo Commerce saying that the money will be refunded and Woo Commerce is charging me TWO fees of $15.00 for the disputes. They give you like a day then will charge you. Yet none of these places were set up to refund me if this happens, so this is a total scam company.

I will remove all payment methods for now and if Woo does get the two $15.00 charges through, I’ll dispute them as well. I’ll take them to court if I have to over this. Someone has to STOP these scam companies that can’t bother to have real customer service for folks who were depending on their service to run an online storefront. Stay away from Woo or ANY company that only uses tickets for support, or forums, that’s a joke.

  • First thing, maybe, just MAYBE you could have used a real developer to setup and test your store. Gelato says that it is possibile to test without adding a payment method (orders are simply not forwarded to print), so why did you do it that way?

Second, have you waited a full month? Sometimes it takes up to a month to see a refund on a credit card.

Third, it is normal to be charged for a dispute, this is done by almost all payment services. It’s your fault to have made payments and then dispute them as a buyer, then you were charged because you were the seller at the same time.

I think you messed up a little, so why all this speech against Woocommerce? And (because of your errors) for 30$? Seriously?

Claiming Woocommerce to be a scam company (tip: Woocommerce is not a company) with millions of people using it with success while you made errors it’s not a good deal to bring them to court…

Gelato just told me the charge never went through on their end, so this is all Woo. Second, wait a month? I have no way of knowing if that money would ever be refunded since Woo has no way of letting me know after I cancelled the orders. You like to talk smack because your anonymous and feel safe, yet your insults fall upon deaf ears.

Claiming that I should be okay with losing $30.00 makes you look like someone who supports these scam plugins. So fanboy, go away. I told Woo in the support ticket that I will dispute their ripoff charges, and that’s exactly what I’ll do and get my money back. If you don’t like it fanboy, please feel free to go have a cry. Maybe insult someone who it will work on. Lmao.

    I don’t think I’ve never insulted you, did I?

However, this is a support forum, not a complain forum and you didn’t came for support but just to bawl against Woocommerce, so…

Finally, you SHOULD have waited the minimun time for a refund before doing anything like you did. And I suppose Woocommerce would had charged you anyway because you used their services initially (I’m not sure since I usually use PayPal) and that would be normal like any payment service/gateway.

    Hi @thebat1812

It seems that this has been marked as resolved. Have you managed to get this sorted, or do you still need help resolving this?

If the issue continues, we’re here and happy to help you out further.

Also, I’d like to clarify that WooCommerce is not a scam company. We strive to provide the best possible service to our users, and we take all complaints seriously. Our ticketing system is in place to ensure that all user inquiries are tracked and addressed in a timely manner. We also provide comprehensive documentation and community forums for additional support.

Regarding your issue with Gelato, I recommend contacting them directly for any issues related to their platform, including refunds for cancelled orders. WooCommerce is a separate entity, so we don’t have direct control over Gelato’s refund processes.

As for the dispute fees, these are charged by the payment gateway (like Stripe or PayPal), not by WooCommerce. When a chargeback occurs, the payment gateway company incurs costs to manage the dispute with the credit card company, and these costs are passed on to the merchant. This is a standard practice across the e-commerce industry.

If you have already received a notification that the money will be refunded, it means the dispute process is in progress. The $15 fee is likely a chargeback fee from your payment gateway. If you believe these fees are unjust, I recommend reaching out to your payment gateway’s support for further clarification.

I understand your concerns about removing all payment methods. Please know that WooCommerce doesn’t directly charge your account unless you have subscribed for our paid services or extensions on WooCommerce.com.

I hope this clarifies the situation a bit. Looking forward to your response!

    Thanks!
