• Hi there,

Can you please tell me if your plugin does the following:

It has a widget that shows a category filter in a drop down menu (or something similar) that allows us to shorten the amount of links below it because just posting all links in a widget takes up way too much vertical space.

Then, it also displays category pages so I can hand out a link to each category and people can see & copy the links.

    Thanks.

Urgently need assistance with finding a plugin that has the above mentioned features, the Link Library plugin that i currently use doesn’t work.

    Thanks.

You do realize that most free plugins on the WordPress repository are maintained by volunteers, right?

Yes, there are ways to achieve what you are looking for with Link Library. That being said, it’s not the easiest plugin to use and I maintain and support it in my free time (evenings and week-ends) and I travel a lot for my day job, so it might sometimes take days or weeks before I’m able to answer questions.

    Hi Yannick,

    I understand.

Well if you gave me a time frame I could see if it would work for me, but I do want to be able to hand out the link to a link category.

    I hope you understand.

And thank you for donating your time.

I am not sure what you mean by giving you a time frame. How quickly are you expecting to have your site up and running? A lot of people will experiment and tune things with Link Library for weeks until everything works exactly as they wanted it. Also, what time zone are you in? I am in North American eastern time zone. Where you are will affect how quickly I’ll be able to respond to you.

My site is up & running already. I’ve been using your plugin for a while now & then noticed it didn’t let me hand out a link category which is what I need.

    I’m CST, not CDT.

I wasn’t asking how long until your next response, I was asking if you are going to tweak the plugin to do what I need & you said yes & I asked how long will it take.

    Thanks

Ah, sorry I did not understand. I don’t think that the code will need to be tweaked. It’s more about tweaking the configuration.

If you have a page on which you are displaying all of your links, you can make it only display a single category at a time by adding the cat_name parameter to the page URL. For example:

    https://matrix.net/link-library/?cat_name=books

    https://matrix.net/link-library/?cat_name=video-games

Just use the category slug as the value of the parameter.
