I set up a new key using the domain, as per your instructions, but my site won’t automatically pick it up. Your interface still uses the old one (didn’t work) which I have archived. How can I input the new key please? I am using it in Forminator, and for a while yesterday it worked – today – bupkiss. It will not ‘get’ the new key nor allow me to input.

I should add, Forminator has the correct key but the Hcaptcha settings in wordpress – your interface – still show the old key and I cannot shift it: not even with purging cache, cookies or reinstallation! Help please urgent.

And now it has broken my Forminator contact forms. Great!

Please advise what to do urgently. The only option I have it seems is to delete my Hcaptcha account and start again…

On the General settings page, you should enter Site Key and Settings key in the relevant fields, and then click the button Save Changes in the bottom. Then hCaptcha will be using your updated keys.

The Forminator keys have no relation to hCaptcha keys. hCaptcha shows own keys on its General settings page.

How your contact page in Forminator is broken? Can you provide the link to the problem page?

Thank you – entering the new keys in the General Settings page was exactly what I tried to go – and it won’t let me!!

The site key is greyed out on your interface and I cannot input the new key there:-(

It says the config is valid too.

The site key is greyed when you have selected any Mode other than Live. Test modes have their own fixed keys, that is why Site Key input is disabled.

Please select the the Live mode and enter your keys – site and secret.

I am using Forminator with Hcaptcha, so it asks for the Hcaptcha API keys – I have input the correct ones. (Sorry if my terminology was not clear.)

Oh ok – thank you…. So at the moment I am working on the staging site – so I should persist with the test keys there (assume that is the one that is greyed out) and then on the live site, simply input the correct keys?

Also, on staging, should I activate the integration with Forminator switch?

And finally, on the staging site, I have made the above changes but the HCAPTCHA graphic does not display? This was what started this whole journey…. shouldn’t I at least see the test image?

Thank you for your prompt assistance. The remaining issue is that the Hcaptcha test image still does not appear when I publish forms from the staging environment to test them – although your general interface still says it is a valid configuration and I can preview the image client side when testing. Just can’t see it anywhere else!

On staging site you may want to see hCaptcha, but not to solve its challenges every time. For this, you should activate Test Mode.

When integration is deactivated, you won’t see hCaptcha with this particular form. So it is your decision how to tune your staging site – I hope bots cannot reach it.

hCaptcha can be invisible if you selected Size as Invisible on the General page.

And the last advise – you do not need to add hCaptcha to the Forminator form manually. Also, remove any hCaptcha settings in the Forminator. With hCaptcha plugin, hCaptcha widget will be added to the form automatically.

I have a new account with you now.

The problem has been that Forminator states the domain name should be listed at the time of generating the keys – and when you provide a set of test keys, there is no opportunity to do that. I had to generate a second site, per domain, and a second set of keys.

I have now tried those in test mode.

hCaptcha says I have a valid config – and Forminator settings display your module, but if i activate integration, this breaks my whole contact page. If I deactivate integration, I cannot see the hCaptcha box. So have no way to tell if hCaptcha is working properly on my staging site or not.

At wits end, really don’t want to go back to GCaptcha if I can avoid it.

It is a bug that appeared in the hCaptcha integration with Forminator in hCaptcha v3.0. I have already fixed it and it will be released this week, along with some other minor improvements. So far, you can roll back hCaptcha to version 2.10.0. On this page, at the bottom, select 2.10.0, download and install it.

Thank you for staying with us!
