    Hi Support,

I think there’s a definite problem with Page Speed when using Product Layouts. Before using Product layouts, I was using Woo layouts on my home page, and my Page Speed was in the 90s. I use Litespeed and cPanel as my server backend; it’s fast. Or, it was fast.

After having installed Product Layouts and giving it a week to cache correctly with Litespeed, my Google Page Speed has dropped into the 50 to 60 range. I’m hoping you can figure out how to cache the plug or reduce the DOM. This low Page Speed score is a real problem.

One other less important nuance is that it’s confusing that the images themselves are not hyperlinked to the product. I’ve had several complaints. Just linking the headings is not so obvious to users.

Other than that, it’s really a great plugin!

I hope you can speed it up!

    Thanks,
    The DolphinGuy

    Hi, DolphinGuy,

We are checking the issue for Google page speed. Hope we can find out and fix the issue very soon.

We are going to add H tag for the title and Image hyperlink to the next version release. You will get those to the plugin’s next version.

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi, DolphinGuy,

We are changing some of our code formats and optimizing code. But we are having trouble getting the Google issues. Because it is working fine from our end. Can you record your browser screen and check the Google speed how the plugin decreases the speed? And provide us? Or can you provide us a screenshot? So we can figure out the issue easily.

    Thank you.
    Richard

    Hello, Richard.

I disabled all sliding popouts in Product Layout, which increased page performance to some extent.

I also believe that the poor Page Speed rating may be due to Product Layouts code’s interaction with LiteSpeed page caching.

However, I think that comparing the problem to the WooCommerce Gutenberg Product Blocks, i.e., Products by Categories, is the ideal approach for you to better review it. Doing an A/B sort of test with two similar pages with an identical number of products on each, one with your Product Layouts and the other with WooCommerce Gutenberg Product Blocks by Categories, would be a better alternative than me sending you screenshots.

My observations are limited to comparing WooCommerce Gutenberg products by categories to product layouts. The Google Page Speed scores decreased dramatically when I removed my WooCommerce Gutenberg Product Blocks from my homepage and replaced it with the Product Layout plugin.
