  • Rename that theme to something else ex. serenity-bak using ftp or server and than try to go on your website this will force wordpress to open twentyten theme.

If this works than you have problem in /serenity/functions.php

upload serenity/functions.php and overwrite the file.

    Hi govpatel.

Can you clarify what you said.
I am new to all of this so i would very much appreciate
    as little jargon as possible.

    THANK-YOU.

    – I need to rename my theme. What to?.
    – What is ftp?..or server
    – What is the twentyten theme?

    Thank-you for all your help.

Access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the /serenity/ directory to anything (like /serenity2/). This will force the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM. Samaraj 10 – were you able to fix it with the instructions above? I tried what James wrote above however I am unable to enter the dashboard therefore unsure how to change the script. thanks in advance

THis is the error message I received:

Warning: require_once(/home/content/56/6876456/html/wp-content/themes/genesis/lib/init.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/56/6876456/html/wp-content/themes/agentpress/functions.php on line 3

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/56/6876456/html/wp-content/themes/genesis/lib/init.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /home/content/56/6876456/html/wp-content/themes/agentpress/functions.php on line 3

You need to rename this genesis folder in themes and than try and go on website that will force twentyten theme to open.

looks like your theme is not installed properly as I see that you two folders in themes folder
    themes/agentpress/functions.php
    themes/genesis

    so which one your theme.

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for your quick response. I’ve been trying to get help for over 3 hours and am going nuts.

WEll AgentPress is the theme I purchase from stuio press and Genesis seems to be their framework file. I hope I explained that well. I’m going to try what you suggested RIGHT NOW….

I attemped to change the names to no avail so …..and I hope I havent made things worse…I deleted the file thinking I could just reinstall. Well nothing has changed. When I go to my website I STILL receive the message above and I can not access the WP dashboard. I just don’t know how to fix this.

you need rename agentpress as that is your theme.

you mean you deleted genesis and agentpress.
what do you have in themes folder now.

yes. I deleted the file that was dowlnoaded from the studiopress site. THat was the file I uploaded to www.ads-software.com for the install theme

before deleting I had renamed the agent press file however nothing changed.

I asked you to check what you have in themes folder now.

I am not able to access the wp dashboard AND deleted the downloaded themes folders from studio press therefore I’m not certain which “themes folder” you are referring to.

When I type my name and login on to the www.ads-software.com site it loads the same script as the website.

You need to access your server via FTP or SFTP and navigate to the /wp-content/themes/ directory.
