    All,

I’m a plugin author and I’m seeing some broken behavior by the www.ads-software.com plugin search engine. My plugin (and others) fail to be retrieved when they should. To replicate:

    • Visit https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/
    • On the left-hand menu, follow the link for “Plugins->Newest”
    • Pick a unique-ish term from a new plugin. I chose “noshop”
    • Put “noshop” in the left-hand menu “Search Plugins” form input and click “search”
    • “No results found”
    • Change the radio button from “Relevance” to “Newest” and search again.
    • This yields the expected result.

Given that “Relevance” is the default search-sort, users cannot find my plugin (Ticketbud) or many others. Why are we not relevant? How can I become relevant (I ask myself this each day.)?

    Thanks in advance.

    -Ken

To save resources, the server-side search engine only properly indexes the plugin directory once a week.

It’s definitely an inconvenience to both developers and users, but considering the level of plugin submissions and activity on the www.ads-software.com server, it’s a necessary inconvenience.

A version of the plugin with the term “ticketbud” in it has been on the wordpress servers for more than two weeks:

Why is this thread marked “resolved” when the problem persists?

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Because you received an answer and it’s being worked on by the plugin team. The issue may be not be resolved on their end, but it is resolved as far as the support forum is concerned because there’s nothing else that we can do here and the plugin team tracks their own issues separate from the forums.

I realize this is a bug, and the plugin team is working on it, however, I am also having this issue with my plugin https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/jquery-t-countdown-widget/
So I bumped and ticked the notify box.

Yeah, you have to contact [email protected]

There’s nothing we can do about it here.
