• I made some hmtl emails for a school application/registration form. Last year, it looked perfect in all email clients I tested. Took me forever to get everything aligned and adjusted just so, using a screen ruler for pixel perfect.

Welp, it’s time for the school to accept enrollments and this year the emails look horrible. Pasting the exact same, year-old HTML into a browser and even WP’s editor shows it’s still perfect, so CF7 is wrecking it.

I checked some older threads here on HTML in email, but they seemed mostly about missing tags or added lines and such. In my case, it seems to be mostly just messing up the padding between elements.

This emails have already gone out to some students/parents, so it’s rather embarrasing, and I need to get this fixed pronto, before my rep is completely destroyed. Is this a known recent issue and should I install an older version, and if so, which one?

As I needed this resolved immediately, I went ahead and redesigned the emails (e.g., simplified divs). Looks good during test emails to myself, but will wait and see what happens with real world users. I’m not marking this resolved for that reason and due to the fact that an update did cause this issue.

@it-hertz is right, line breaks are ignored since a couple of updates.
