Woo Order Number available on Paypal

    Should the Woo order number show on the Payapl dashboard against each order? If so is there a tick box or setting to make it show on either the Woo or the Paypal side?

    Our client says they only see the customer name on the Paypal dashboard which makes it difficult to match up orders on the Paypal dashboard with orders in the Woocommerce dashboard, whereas Stripe orders also show the order number within the Stripe dashboard.

    Thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.

    The WooCommerce order number is used for the invoice ID that is being transferred to the PayPal Transaction with the “Invoice prefix” added in front of it. In my testing environment, the Invoice prefix was “fefeed” and with this setup, I see this in my PayPal transaction as the outcome.

    So, to answer your question: yes, the WooCommerce order ID is on the PayPal transaction, but it is not on the transaction overview. This overview is not something we manage, so you might want to ask PayPal Merchant Technical Support if there is any way you can show the Invoice ID on the transaction overview. This is not something we can help you with.

    Sorry for the lack of reply – thanks for coming back to me with that info, I passed this on to our client but I’ve yet to hear back from them. I’ll chase them and raise a new ticket if I have any further questions.
