    Dear all,

after WordPress 6.3.1 update, I asked for Yoast SEO chekup: the result was “SEO Data Optimization is complete” … but I received also the following message “No valid sitemap parsed for crawler”. The PHP version is 7.4. The theme is WooThemes Canvas 5.12.0 (with child). The sitemap seems correct at the web site https://www.website.it/sitemap.xlm.

But unfortunately, now, the web site i too slow, any suggestion?

    Francesco

    Hello Francesco,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your sitemap. Your Yoast SEO-generated XML sitemap index will be at ?https://www.website.it/sitemap_index.xml/ and not?https://www.website.it/sitemap.xlm (not https://www.website.it/sitemap.xml either).

Do you, by chance, have the Litespeed cache plugin installed? I ask because the error “No valid sitemap parsed for crawler” relates to that plugin. I will recommend excluding the sitemap from the cache using the tip in their support forum thread.

Hi Maybellyne, thank you, the result for :

    or

    https://www.website.it/sitemap.xml

is exactly the same (in my case/website):

“Generated by?Yoast SEO, this is an XML Sitemap, meant for consumption by search engines. You can find more information about XML sitemaps on?sitemaps.org. This XML Sitemap Index file contains 11 sitemaps.” Then there is the list of 11 sitemaps…

I’ll will try your suggestion “…excluding the sitemap from the cache…?“

    Thank you again, F.

    Hello @zesco,

Once you have the Yoast SEO XML sitemap feature, the plugin generates the sitemap at /sitemap_index.xml/ and also redirects /sitemap.xml/ to it. So your experience is the expected behavior.

Please refer to the tip shared in LiteSpeed cache WordPress forum at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/exclude-urls-from-cache-and-optimization/. You can ask if you have further questions about excluding the sitemap from the cache.
