Use alternate checkout depending on cart contents

I have both physical and digital products in my store. I’d like to create one checkout form variation that does not include Shipping language and fields, since these are confusing for customers who are only ordering digital products. It is possible to scan the cart, and if only certain categories exist (or if physical product product categories don’t exist), then direct the customer to the alternate Checkout cart?
