Compress relevanssi table?

  • The plugin works very well, however the relevanssi table grows quite large and has 60+ thousand records in it. Can the table be compressed via MySQL? Would this be an issue and/or would it help reduce the size of the database? Thanks.

    60k rows is a very small Relevanssi index table. Unfortunately, there’s no way to avoid a large index; it’s the basis for how Relevanssi functions.

    The big table size is only an issue if your hosting provider is very strict on how much space your database can consume. In circumstances like that, Relevanssi is not a good tool and you should look for an externally hosted search tool.
