The latest update broke the excerpt function!

  • Right after I submitted a five star review, the latest update broke the critical excerpt function! The following is the previous review. Will change the rating if the problem is fixed.

    For an example of the solution it produces, just check out this website: bitandcoin.net (Update: we have temporarily moved to a different plug-in, so the website works now, but Content Control still does not do excerpts even after another update 2.07.)

    THE ORIGINAL REVIEW:

    We tried all kinds of content restriction plug-ins and apps, and this is the only one that worked for our purpose.

    Important features include:

    (1) you can design templates that are applicable to different categories of posts or pages.

    (2) it has an option to include a short excerpt of each restricted content.

    Very satisfied. If I were to be picky, it would be even greater if it had the following two features:

    (1) the ability to define the length of excerpt. (Not a big deal, because the default works okay)

    (2) the ability to allow access by a user who doesn’t have a registered account. (The plug-in as it is now requires the user to have a registered account to have any kind of access. This works for most cases, but sometimes you want to give special access to certain users who can’t be bothered to register an account.)

    @nobodee – Rest assured, my goal since v2 released was to quickly iron out all the kinks, fix any integration issues etc. We will get to a stable place very quickly, but v2 was a complete rewrite, and we tested for months without issues, though we can’t test with every combination of WP plugins.
