The latest update of Content Control broke the excerpt function

Can you tell me what exactly broke. Are the posts not restricted now at all, or the excerpts are behaving as expected?

Can you also tell me if it is broken on both single restricted posts & archives containing them?

Can you provide some details on your current settings (in the new editor)? There were some new settings added that may be impacting your experience, want to make sure its optimized for what your wanting.

@nobodee – I’m not sure if I’m misunderstanding or just unable to replicate the issue.

I’ve set up a test with a post with an excerpt, and a restriction that uses the Replace Content -> Custom Message + Show excerpts option.

This is working as intended, showing the excerpt above the restricted message.

So maybe your settings need tweaking in v2, mainly because we added quite a few additional controls for things like how restricted posts behave in archives.
