    Hello.

I’ve tried contacting Brevo (SendinBlue) but haven’t heard back.

None of my customers are getting an automated email after filling out a form. This is very frustrating.

I have everything connected, authorized and synced the correct way. Domain is authorized, API is setup (even created and added a new API to see if that worked), SMPT working the right way, but nothing is happening or working.

It used to work and it was simple. Customer enters their email address, they then get added to a Brevo list, customer then receives an automated email.

No longer. I have to now manually reply to everyone in the meantime of trying to fix this. Or, unfortunately go with a different WP Forms integration like Mail Chimp.

    Hi there @metricsmule,

What I would start with is checking the Brevo logs under:

    Transactional > Email > Logs

If the emails for customers are showing up, it means they made it to the Brevo service and are in their hands at that point. However, if they are not in the Brevo logs, there may be something interfering with the email before it makes it there.

What you could try next is enabling Debug Email Sending in WP Mail SMTP:

    https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-debug-email-sending-issues-in-wp-mail-smtp/#Enabling_Debug_Email_Sending

Then go through the same process a customer would so you can trigger an email to be sent. After it is sent, if it shows up in the Debug log, it means an email was attempted. If there is a problem reaching Brevo, you’ll see an error. If everything is good, you should see:

    “An email request was sent.”

You can then check the Brevo logs again to see if the email is there. If it’s not there, something is likely interfering with the email on its way to Brevo.

Try checking that out and let us know how it goes. If all else fails, WP Mail SMTP can be connected to other mailer services. Check out this guide in our documentation. It walks through each mailer we support and includes the benefits of each: https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/a-complete-guide-to-wp-mail-smtp-mailers/

I hope that helps! Have a great day! ??

@dpinson Thank you very much for your detailed response. I’ve went through your steps and here’s what I found.

In Brevo, under transactional-email-logs, my emails are going through in there (just not by WP Forms submissions). For example, if someone purchases a product via Easy Digital Downloads, it shows a successful transactional email to both the customer with their receipt and to me as a notification email.

As far as debugging, I did what you said and did a test email but I didn’t see anything show up. All I see in Debug Events are four events from 9/11/2023 saying this: Content: Error Mailer: Brevo http_request_failed: [“cURL error 35: error:14094438:SSL routines:ssl3_read_byte:tlsv1 alert internal error”]

Source: Easy Digital Downloads or WP Forms

    But nothing after 9/11/2023

I think I found the common denominator but am unsure what it even means.

In Brevo, when I go into a contact’s history I noticed that anytime it says this, emails aren’t getting delivered: “Added by you: using API V3”.

When it doesn’t say that, but this instead, it gets delivered: “Contact added to the list, “Get in Touch”

So anytime is says “Added by you: using API V3” it’s unsuccessful.

Sorry for the long message but Bravo’s customer service has been dismal and surprisingly painfully slow and nonchalant. Even on the paid plan, I send support tickets and replies to them and won’t hear back for 24 hours. When they do respond, it’s with a question I already answered. Then when I reply back, it’s another 24 hours to hear back, which is usually again, another nonchalant question. Meanwhile I’m losing many customers and having to send emails manually all day long.

I’m using WP SMTP with Brevo, and WP Forms.

    Hi there @metricsmule,

Thanks for the response. That is a bit odd. Do you have any other plugins installed that hook into Brevo/Sendinblue, or have the ability to connect to their service?

Regarding the cURL error, if that’s a recent issue, you’ll need to reach out to your host. They should be able to look into that one for you and help get it sorted out.

    I hope that helps! Thanks!
