• Your plugin, Speed Optimizer (formerly SG Optimizer), is sweeping our website for the latest plugin versions installed on our website. When a newer plugin version is detected — and not installed — your plugin displays a notification.

Since your plugin is only a performance plugin, please delete the code associated with this notification. It belongs only in your plugin, Security Optimizer (formerly SG Security). No other performance plugin in the WP repository behaves this way.

As you would agree, deleting the unnecessary code will make your plugin lighter and faster.

WordPress already provides the necessary tools to tell us when there’s a new plugin version.

    Thank you.

    Hello @generosus,

We greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

The security of our clients is one of our top priorities. Keeping all WordPress components up-to-date is vital, as new versions deliver crucial security updates and performance enhancements. Both plugins are designed to run a quick check if all website components are running on the latest available versions and if any outdated plugins are detected, a notification is promptly displayed in the plugin’s section. In this manner, even if someone is solely utilizing the Speed Optimizer, they can still benefit from this feature. The additional check should not influence the overall performance of the admin area, yet the benefits it provides could be notably substantial for a webmaster.

    Best Regards,

    Hi @tsvetanm,

Respectfully, we disagree with your assessment. Not all plugin updates relate to performance enhancement. And as stated before, WP already has a plugin update checker. Kindly reconsider our recommendation.

    Thank you.
