    One of my friends showed me, that images from ask4photos.com (which uses NextGEN Gallery) could not be reduced by using the finger resizing method, i.e. they are not responsive on a modern iPhone.
    This is not a request for help, I just want to hear if other users of NextGEN Gallery sites have had the same experience?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @kirsj,

    If you are referring about the fact that the lightbox images cannot be zoomed – this is a known aspect.

    The lightbox that you have activated uses canvas, which doesn’t allow pinch to zoom in/out effect, unfortunately.

    This doesn’t mean that the images aren’t displayed in a responsive way, though. NGG serves the corresponding images’ sizes for both the thumbnails and lightbox on the mobile devices without cropping or skewing them.

    Hi,
    It came as a surprise and disappointment for the person with the iPhone, because most images in her world can be zoomed with the fingers on the screen.
    Do you think this is something Imagely – or whoever is responsible for NextGEN Gallery – would consider to improve?

    Hi @kirsj,

    Unfortunately, this cannot be changed for now. That’d require to completely migrate to a different lightbox library or create our own.

    Thanks,

    I’ll have to forward the sad news ;O/

    Hi @kirsj,

    Theoretically, if you don’t particularly need to use the current lightbox, you can switch to “Simplelightbox” from “NextGen Gallery->Other Options->Lightbox Effects->What lightbox would you like to use?” since it supports pinch to zoom gesture on mobile.

    Thank you.

    The reaction is:
    1. the text appears on the lower part of the image and cannot be hidden,
    2. all linking to the earlier images has to be redirected.

    Otherwise not a bad presentation considering the pinch option.

    HI @kirsj,

    Not sure if this will change anything for your customer but ref the first one, you can hide the description captions from SimpleLightbox adding the following custom CSS rule to “Appearance->Customize->Additional CSS”:

    .sl-wrapper .sl-image .sl-caption {
        display: none !important;
    }

    It’s nice of you. Then it’s either-or. But nothing really competes with the NextGEN Gallery’s presentation options – except for the strange missing finger-zoom. Also any change of gallery creates new urls and all links from posts have to be redirected. I think the owner will wait for NextGEN Gallery to be zoomable.
