    Hello,
    – How can I change the Paris background image of this theme?
    – Will this Directory theme be maintained?

I’m a bit stumped. This is my first stab at the FSE/block editor/theme. It seemed to me like a good idea to have it based on Bootstrap. However the Directory theme and/or WP FSE seem hard to handle.

    1. I tried finding a way to change the ‘Paris background’ directly in the UI, but no luck.
    2. Also no luck finding a block option on the righthand side, neither under template or blocks. Only an ’empty background dropdown’ handle.
    3. Each time I try to edit the first BS-container block from the list on the lefthand side, by choosing ‘edit as HTML’, the block crashes. It crashes even, when I only switch to HTML and immediately back to visual again.
    4. (a similar mismatch between HTML and visual happens when editing the ‘title’-block; after giving it a text-color and a simple icon. Then try typing text or edit HTML in Content option of the block on the righthand side)
    5. Finally, I tried to change in the database the Frontpage template (that seems to take precedence over every frontpage page setting in WP). But even if I delete the background image there -multiple times- it just seems to revert back to its original state.

In debug.log I find that there is an undefined key ‘display layout’ in blockstrap/classes/class-blockstrap-block-filters.php on line 47, but nothing else.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Hi @dotdoc,

we invested heavily to build this new theme and while it is not advancing as fast as we wanted, we are working on it constantly and we will be pushing to make it the default theme used to build Directories with WordPress and GeoDirectory.

To change the Home Background picture, follow these steps:

    1. from WP Backend go to Appearance > Editor
    2. Select Templates > Front Page and click the edit icon
    3. Click the List View Icon (Shift + Alt + O) and select the 1st BS > (container fluid) https://i2.paste.pics/e98b992c42fac452c24d125d9ff41841.png
    4. On the right column with the block controls, select Styles, scroll down and you’ll see where the picture is used as Background Picture. https://i2.paste.pics/093a206a0f9fa92e1aeb46a4b6ff0952.png
    5. Click the little CLEAR button and upload your new image.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Paolo

Perfect! Thank you for your answer and pushing this theme so hard.

I looked at the pics and noticed that I was missing all the options underneath ‘Background’ and even the tab ‘Advanced’.

I found a conflict with Loco Translate and BlockStrap Page Builder Blocks. There is no problem when creating a new language .pot/.po, however when I translate the words ‘Background’ or ‘Wrapper Styles’ (or ..) the tabs or options of the block disappear. That’s why I could not find the option to change the background image.

    I’ll deactivate translation for now.
