• I’m trying to get my www.ads-software.com feet wet by setting up a simple blog. I chose the entry with the yellow circle. I wanted to change the circles color. I clicked on the circle and nothing happened so I could just change the circle. The menuing gave me no intuitive way to change the text that I wanted to select. The whole user interface and on and on made no sense to me. Why not just work on a MS Word like editor that’s well integrated and with layers.

  • Hi @wmhboehm ! Thank you for the taking the time to write this review.

I understand that the editor is new, and has a learning curve. It’s not really possible to have something like MS Word, since text, media, and layouts work very differently on the web, vs they do in a page setup/processing program.

About your specific issue, are you able to share some more details, and perhaps a screenshot that shows where you’re stuck? I’ll be happy to take a look and suggest a solution.

@wmhboehm Sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. I don’t blame you. The introduction of this editor ruined WordPress. I tried to give this a try for a few years now and it is still just as counterintuitive, buggy, etc. And I’ve been using WordPress since 2010, so going on 13 years.

They dropped the ball, like big time with this. Terrible. I’d even go as far as using the word atrocious. If you want a simpler experience that is kind of like MS Word, revert back to the classic editor that was used for countless years, and it was an editor people loved, because it was simple, and it worked without fuss.

The plugin is called Classic Editor and you can download it. That said, who knows if they will remove it at a future date. If so, I’m done with WordPress personally. So maybe better to just try and learn this editor since you are new to WordPress. Good luck, you’ll need it.
