    Hi,

I have a site that uses the Kadence Google Maps block in the contact section. I have just noticed that the default placeholder that I selected in the Complianz options is not showing anything. The Maps block is displaying fine when the cookies are accepted but not displaying anything if the cookies are rejected (or not accepted yet).

This may be a simple user error but I looked around and searched for similar issues and I cannot find a resolution. The cache is deactivated and nothing is displayed in the incognito mode.

Any pointers as to what I should do to resolve this, please? Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @adamj16,

Could you confirm that you have the “Placeholder” checkbox enabled next to the Google Maps service, under Complianz -> Integrations -> Services?

Please also check that you don’t have “Disable placeholder insertion” enabled under Complianz -> Settings -> Cookies.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Hi Jarno, many thanks for your quick reply. I missed the checkbox in the integrations… (I will check again but I could not see this referenced in the documentation)

However… with the placeholder checkbox on, the map is not displaying as intended. Instead of filling in the container which is 400px high, it shows as a narrow strip somehow limited by the placeholder to 150px.

NB: I have used the 1280×500 ratio so that the placeholder does not overflow the container. I could be wrong but do not think it should matter when it comes to the actual content, it is always showing as 150px high while the placeholder scales (but it scales proportionally, why is it not responsive / made to cover the content container?)

Can you suggest a fix, please? Do I have to use the custom option? Thanks

    Hi @adamj16,

You could try this version of the plugin on GitHub (code -> download .zip). This adds the placeholder to a parent <div> with height: inherit, so Kadence (or other gutenberg blocks) can inherit the height from the parent element.

Let me know about your findings! Kind regards, Jarno

Hi Jarno, thanks, I downloaded the code and tried to install it but all I am getting is a “link expired” message. If you are going to update the plugin through a general release I can wait. Please let me know.

    Hi @adamj16,

The likely reason for this message is because of the upload max size settings in your WordPress installation, an easy way to avoid such restrictions is to upload the plugin over FTP. Please see: https://complianz.io/the-link-you-have-followed-has-expired/

Or indeed, wait for the update (6.5.5) which also includes this adjustment; which is also planned for release soon.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Hi Jarno – many thanks again. Yes, must be the size of the upload, I did not pay attention to it when I downloaded the plugin. I will check later, in the meantime, thanks for your help and prompt responses.
