• First of all, I love your gallery and lightbox plugins. They’re exactly what I was looking for. My site isn’t live yet, but I’ve set myself a reminder to leave you a review once it’s been live for a while.

Question: Is there an ideal image size (width) you’d recommend for using in galleries? I’m a painter and want images to be large enough when they’re zoomed that people can see some detail without the images making the site too slow–I guess allowing for Retina screens too. (Note: I optimise my images using tinyjpg.com.)

    Hey @chrislt ! ??

Thank you for the kind words and using our plugin !

Meow Gallery should effortlessly handles images of various sizes. If you’re considering enabling zoom functionality for your users, we recommend trying Meow Lightbox, our own plugin. ?

It allows users to click on any image within your galleries to expand it to full-screen view. It’s a straightforward and engaging way to enhance the user experience on your website. Give it a shot and see the difference it can make! ??

In terms of the image itself, if you want the highest level of clarity, it’s best to use the image in its original size.

Thanks, Val. I have installed both the gallery and the (Meow) lightbox plugin.

I just wondered whether there was a recommended width that would work well zoomed but wasn’t the full-sized original image (a balance between resolution and file size). No worries, I’ll experiment.
