• Hi,
Something went funny with my wordpress blog (just starting to create) so I’m trying to deactivate the latest plugins to see which one is the culprit. The changes are taking a really long time to show up though. For instance, if I disable a social media plugin it stays on the site for many hours afterwards.
    I don’t understand.
Can someone please explain how this works please.

  • Remember to press CTRL and F5 simultaneously when viewing an updated page/site. Or try emptying your browser cache. This should ensure that your web browser fetches a fresh copy of the page rather than serving up an out-dated copy from your own cache.

    Also disable/deactivate any caching plugin(s).

Thank you so much for your response esmi!

CTRL + F5 doesn’t work, nor does emptying my cache ??

Re: disable/deactivate caching plugins… does that include “WP Super Cache”. Just confused because it is supposed to make caching super fast.

Turns out I have no idea what caching means. I know when to clear it, but I have no idea what it means. Ha ha ha!

Yes – that includes includes WP Super Cache. It doesn’t make caching faster. It creates static copies of your dynamic pages (to reduce the load on the server) which are then sent to the web browser whenever the dynamic page is requested.
