    Hello, thanks for your plugin!

In the last ACF Views v.2.2.5 installation, I modified an ACF Views and now it doesn’t want to be shown, I have done everything, I have done it again in another different ACF Views and nothing, the old ones are shown if you don’t touch them, but If you modify it, they cannot be seen, the ACF Views that was damaged is the most essential on my site, I am in a panic attack, because all the entries were damaged, since it is part of a general template.

    Best regards,

    Dalia

    I tried the versions:

2.2.4 IT DOES NOT WORK, it deletes all the information from the ACF Views when you leave the post, if you enter again it is all empty, Basic, MarkUp and Advanced Tabs are empty.
2.2.3 IT DOES NOT WORK, it deletes all the information from the ACF Views when you leave the post, if you enter again it is all empty, Basic, MarkUp and Advanced Tabs are empty.
2.2.2 IT WORKS, CSS DOES NOT WORK
2.2.0 WORKS, CSS DOES NOT WORK

I have the same issue and returned back to version 2.2.3 and it worked fine.

@bogy50 I had to use version 2.2.0, do the ACF Views again (because with version 2.2.5 it is deleted if you touch it) and then I reinstalled the latest version (because if you don’t touch it nothing happens), but the css doesn’t work and looks horrible and takes up a lot of space.

    Hi @daliasued

Sorry to hear about the issues your having.

Let’s see if I can assist you in troubleshooting the problem.

Have you checked your Site Health > Info Tab to confirm the necessary folders are writeable?

What do you mean the CSS doesn’t work? Did you use the magic classes or the views id ?

    Thread Starter daliasued

    (@daliasued)

Hi @wplakeorg, I answer you in the same order

In my “Site Health” it only recommends me to delete some inactive plugins, but I don’t delete them because I use them occasionally. And the themes alike. I have no more warnings.

The fields appear without the “,” all together without any space, in addition, they appear below the label, Example:

New ACF Views the olds are fine

    RomanceActionDrama (Incorrect)

    Romance, Action, Drama (Correct)

    Date:
    2023/10/22 (Incorrect)

    Date: 2023/10/22 (Correct)

I removed them momentarily, until you responded to me, because they take up a lot of space, and they don’t look good.

I’m not an expert, but when you put the old version 2.2.0 everything works fine, except the CSS. What I did was make the “ACF Views” again with 2.2.0 and it doesn’t get deleted, but if I try to fix something with the latest version, the content gets totally deleted from “ACF Views”.

I hope you understand me, if you need photos, let me know. Or if you need to go to my site and see, I can create a temporary user for you.

    TY, Dalia

    Hi @daliasued

Please could you make a database backup, then update to the latest ACF Views version, then could you specifically check file permissions of the /acf-views/src/templates directory, and make sure that it is writable?

If it is, but you’re still having issues editing Views. Could you share the PHP log file?

Regarding your CSS, are you referring to another forum post you created earlier? https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/fields-in-the-same-line/

Can you share a link to the page where the CSS is not displaying how you expect?

    Thank you

    Hi @wplakeorg

    1. Just to be sure, if there was a problem with the files as you say, that they are not writable, then why does version 2.2.0 work for me?, I don’t think that’s the problem, but well… as I explained to you, I’m not an expert. How do I check file permissions of the /acf-views/src/templates directory?. I Have the 2.2.5 version.

    2. Where do I get the share the PHP log file?

    3. This one for the update 20231006: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/css-error-after-update/?view=all#post-17103234

    4. I’m not using it because it doesn’t look good on the site, and everything stuck together confuses people.

    Hi @wplakeorg

    ACF Views permissions:

755 means?you can do anything with the file or directory, and other users can read and execute it but not alter it.

    • prefixed_vendors
    • src

644 means?you can read and write the file or directory and other users can only read it.

    • acf-views.php
    • index.php
    • readme.txt

My server is managed, I don’t know how to see the PHP, I can’t copy the errors I see, I don’t know why

Hi?@wplakeorg I made a video with the process of creating an “ACF Views” with version 2.2.5

    (@wplakeorg)

    Hi @daliasued

Thanks for the video and sharing more detail.
Do you connect to your hosting with cPanel or so ?
If you do, then you could likely navigate to the folder using the file manager, then once your in the /wp-content/plugins/acf-views/src folder, look for “templates”, right-click with your mouse and select “change permissions” in the dialogue, tick the boxes so that the permissions number is 7 5 5, then click “change permissions” button to update.

Please let me know if this change allows you to save Views with field assigning retained, and Template Preview showing markup?

We’re working on moving the Templates folder to the theme directory to prevent the permission issue.

    Hi @daliasued

Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Since V2.3.0 the templates are now stored in the wp-content/uploads folder of WP.

If you’re still experiencing an issue adding or editing Views, then please see the steps below to provide us with the necessary information for us to help.
    1. In the wp-config.php file, change the lines with WP_DEBUG, WP_DEBUG_LOG = true
    2. Try to add a View. If error persists then check log file.
    3. Go to directory wp-content/debug.log and copy the lines related to ACF Views, then share it with us.

Hi?@wplakeorg?Sorry, I have the flu and I haven’t worked on my page. I did the steps you suggested and it continues like the video I sent you. The third one where you ask me for the log, I don’t see it in my files, see photos, I have a VPS server, I don’t know if that is somewhere else, I have been on several servers and they all have some different way of managing the files, this one site is kind of disorganized (Namecheap).

Hello @wplakeorg, I spent almost an hour with “Namecheap” trying to solve the debug.log file, we have added 2 more lines to the code you gave me as this article says “https://www.acf-extended.com/guides/debugging -wordpress-acf”, because just changing from “false” to “true” gave me an error on the page.

I tried “ACF Views” again, and it doesn’t work, but unfortunately the debug.log file is not created either, we did it manually, but it also has no information, it appears empty.

In the template I see this (Before it appeared empty)

    <div class="{{ _view.classes }}acf-view acf-view--id--{{ _view.id }} acf-view--object-id--{{ _view.object_id }}">
    </div>

    Hi @daliasued

Thank you for the update, and for all the effort in trying to get the log files working. Let’s perhaps try a different approach.

    1. Have you updated your ACF Views plugin to the latest version?
    2. What other plugins are currently active on your site?
    3. Which Theme are you using?
    Thread Starter daliasued

    (@daliasued)

    Hello?@wplakeorg

    1. Yes, I do
    2. ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO, ACF QuickEdit Fields, ACF Views, Admin Menu Editor, Advanced Custom Fields, Advanced Editor Tools, Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection, Better Find and Replace, Crowdsignal Polls & Ratings, Display Posts, Easy Table of Contents, Footnotes Made Easy, Jetpack, Limit Login Attempts Reloaded, PostX – Gutenberg Post Grid Blocks, Protección de Jetpack, Redirection, Reveal IDs, Schema & Structured Data for WP & AMP, Search & Filter, Site Kit by Google, Solid Security Basic, TaxoPress, UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore, WP Super Cache, WPCode Lite, WPForms Lite, Yoast Duplicate Post, Yoast SEO
    3. GeneratePress (Free version)

Is there a way you can help me with the CSS using version 2.2.0, which was the only one that allowed me to create the ACF Views, but I can’t use it because all the fields appear together without “,”, and below the label. This while we solve the problem, since much of the information is not being displayed on my site because it looks very bad like this and I had to remove it.

    TY

    Dalia
