I have a site that is running this Square plugin. The update from 4.2.0 to 4.3.0 completely breaks any product that doesn’t have a price associated with it. The site we have running has products that are contact only, but as they don’t have prices attached to them, this errors out the post.

Is this something that can be looked at?

  • Hi @chrismitchell,

From what I understand, you’ve updated the Square plugin from version 4.2.0 to 4.3.0 and since then, any product on your site that doesn’t have a price associated with it is causing an error. These products are meant to be contact only, but the lack of a price seems to be causing an issue.

I’m sorry to hear about this inconvenience. Let’s try a few things to resolve this issue:

    1. Update your plugins and themes: Sometimes, an outdated plugin or theme can cause conflicts with WooCommerce. Make sure everything is up-to-date.
    2. Plugin Conflict: Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with the WooCommerce Square plugin. Try disabling all other plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the issue. If it does, you can then reactivate each plugin one by one to identify the conflicting plugin.
    3. Theme Conflict: Similar to plugin conflicts, sometimes themes can cause issues too. You could try switching to a default WordPress theme like Storefront temporarily to see if this resolves the issue. Here’s a helpful guide on how to test for conflicts: ?? How to Test for Plugin and Theme Conflicts.

If none of these steps work, could you please share your site’s System Status with us? It will give us a better understanding of your site’s setup and help us identify the problem. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Also, if there are any fatal error logs, please share those with us as well. You can find them under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Once you’ve gathered this information, please paste it inside a Code block in your reply, or use https://pastebin.com to paste it and share the link with us.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation in this matter! We’re here to help you get this sorted.

    Hi there @chrismitchell ??

The site we have running has products that are contact only, but as they don’t have prices attached to them, this errors out the post.

Can you please share a screenshot of what you see at that screen? That will help us understand the issue. Here’s how to make a screenshot:

Also, just to clarify, did you already have a chance to roll back to a previous version and see if the issue persists, or otherwise? The WP Rollback plugin is handy for that.

We await your response to better assist you.

    Hi @chrismitchell,

This is to notify you that we just released Square version 4.3.1 which includes a fix to an issue that sounds similar to the one you mentioned.

Please update your Square extension to apply this fix.
