My Acymail is default configured (utf-8).

Of the 2 content parts, the text part is sent correctly as:

    Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

But the html part is sent as:

    Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

This causes German umlauts (? ? ü ?) which started as utf-8, to be interpreted as ?¤ ?? ?? ?? and encoded in html as ä etc

This happens in the default confirmation mail, because the German for “confirmation” is “best?tigen”. I see no way to change the confirmation mail or set the correct text/html charset.

The charset may be forced by the sending method used, could you temporary switch to an other sending method to send a test to be sure?

You can use a Gmail account as SMTP for example (you may have to also temporary change the “From email” in the configuration for this test).
