    Hi There

I am trying to setup a child theme – Saw the video that uses an OLDER version – They are showing “Theme Panel” – Mine says: “OceanWP” and have no Export/Import?

I activated the Child Theme – But the site loses all the settings? Background color etc.
Please advise … How to get the Export/Import done or a Walk around.

    In advance: Thx

  • Hello @netz,

Yes, it is possible that the video you saw used an older version of the theme. But don’t worry, you can find the same options to transfer the settings of the main theme to the child theme in the new panel.

So please go to WP Dashboard > OceanWP > OceanWP Panel > Customizer. You’ll find the import/export option at the end of this tab.

While the primary/parent theme is activated, use the export option to export all settings. Then activate the original child theme, go to the theme panel > customizer, and import the file you exported in the previous step.

For more information about OceanWP Child Theme, please follow the steps explained in this link: https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/90-sample-child-theme.

    I hope it helps.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the above steps.
    Best Regards
