  • Recently I’m getting many of the same errors when attempting to upgrade plugins (not the ‘Image Widget’ specifically).

    The error reads:
An error occured while updating nrelate Related Content: Download failed. Not Found.

This has been happening to many plugins. Sometimes if I retry to updgrade it takes on the 3rd or 4th try, sometimes not.

    Any ideas?

    Multi-site 3.1

Same problem here, just started having it. Very puzzling.

Same problem here, started a few days ago.

    Same with AddToAny’s latest release.

Now I’m not only getting this “Download failed. Not Found” error when upgrading plugins, but when trying to install new plugins. This is really hindering my production since I can’t upgrade or install plugins due to this problem.

I have one hunch I want to follow up on…maybe it is related to the zip file name having “zipname.5.4.3.2.1.zip or some crazy thing like that for file versioning.

    Here’s an example:

    Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/add-to-any.0.9.9.6.9.zip…

    Download failed. Not Found

Can anyone confirm this with some testing by downloading and renaming the zip file before upgrading?

I.E. download plugin, rename zip file, de-activate existing plugin, delete existing plugin, upload new/upgraded plugin zip file.

Of course this would be a pain if we had to do this for every plugin upgrade. But if we could identify that this is the problem we can submit a bug report to WP team.

I think that is the issue…the naming of the zip file.

I tried to upgrade “Article Directory” plugin to version 1.2, it gave me the “Download failed. Not found” error.

I went to the WP plugin repository and downloaded the zip file, renamed it from “article-directory.1.2.zip” to “article-directory.zip” and it installed just fine.

So to get around this problem:

    • delete existing plugin that requires upgrade
    • download plugin from WP plugin repository or plugin homepage
    • rename zip file to remove version numbers at end of file name
    • upload new/upgraded plugin zip file

Now I need to figure out how to submit a bug report on this issue.

It’s definitely a known problem with the directory and I think they’re working on it:

Cool, I hope this solves it. I guess according to the WP bug tracker we’ll know if that was it in just over 24hrs or so.

I’m still getting this error trying to upgrade role scoper.
