How: customer portal / dashboard(selfservice, read report, project status update

  • I have a wordpress site to sell online/internet services.

    How can I build a customer dashboard where my customers can find out the details about the services they order, such as montly reports, project status updates, user profile custom fields, support question and answer, payment due day, customer to upload supporting documents, etc.? It would be even better if any update inside the custom dashboard will send out email notice.

    Right now, all of these tasks are done manually through emails, for example, we have to send out monthly reports in emails and answer questions through email, etc.

  • You can do lots of things by hooking into the Dashboard API.

    Probably I should describe it better as a “Customer Self-Service portal” which allows customers to access their account information, download monthly reports, check project status, ask questions, pay invoices, etc on the web.

    Is there any way we can do this in WordPress?

    I guess you could write a plugin that lets people login to the admin panel with their user account (assuming they have a WP user created) and access that information.

    Though, to me, it sounds like you are better off making it outside of WordPress.
