    Hi,

My security is continually warning me about your plugin as being an issue. The following is what I receive:

Details: This file belongs to plugin “Broken Link Checker” version “2.2.3” and has been modified from the file that is distributed by www.ads-software.com for this version. Please use the link to see how the file has changed. If you have modified this file yourself, you can safely ignore this warning. If you see a lot of changed files in a plugin that have been made by the author, then try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin to force an upgrade. Doing this is a workaround for plugin authors who don’t manage their code correctly. Learn More

Uninstalling and reinstalling has not been able to stop this warning continually appearing.

    Please fix this?

    Thank you in advance,

    Trish

    Hi @trible,

Trust you are doing good and thank you for reaching out to us.

We’ve encountered a similar reported issue on our end, which appears to be a false positive. To assist you further, could you specify the exact file that WordFence has identified as modified? This information will help us confirm and address the concern.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

@wpmudevsupport14 Sorry for my delay in returning here. The file name is: broken-link-checker/broken-link-checker.php and it is line 15.

The Original Version Requires PHP: 7.4 and the Modified Version now apparently shows Requires PHP 7.2.

Hope this helps you, and Thank you for your patience with my delay in responding.

    Much appreciated,
    Trish

    Hi @trible

    Thanks for response!

This is actually due to the version requirement change in plugin declaration header. It turned out that our developers updated that without actually doing full update of the plugin which is not really a bug or glitch but would cause discrepancy. That’s a small overlook but won’t affect how plugin works and I got confirmation from them that they’ll make sure to not make such changes without release full update of the plugin.

All in all, this is something you can safely ignore currently (WordFence shoudld have option to ignore issue) as it’s only “informational level” issue. With nearest update of the plugin the issue will automatically go away.

    Kind regards,
    Adam
