I never resolved this issue so I’m trying to get help again with this error.

The request to the authentication proxy has failed with an error: invalid Analytics redirect URI

I have a multisite setup and this only happens on the root domain. I can setup sitekit on the subdomains with no issue.

    Things I have tried:

    • Uninstall all plugins
    • re-install Site Kit
    • reset Site Kit

I get this error as soon as i click Sign In With Google

Hi @mrhighlight84 Thanks for reaching out.

Let’s perform some checks to try and determine where the fault lies. Firstly, to check whether this may be hosting related, can you attempt Site Kit set up, including with Analytics, using?this link, which allows you to test a temporary WordPress site?

If the same occurs, this indicates there may be something at host level impacting Analytics set up. If so, please share your current hosting provider.

If the same doesn’t occur, and you are able to proceed with Site Kit set up, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Do you see any console errors along with this message?
    3. Are you using Cloudflare with your setup and does the same occur if you temporarily bypass Cloudflare servers using the?steps in this guide?

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

With the link you provided, I was able to setup site kit successfully. My current hosting is Cloudways.

Site Health was sent through google docs

I’m using Cloudflare, but the error still occurs when I bypass their servers.

@mrhighlight84 Thanks for the additional information. Could I please ask you at this stage to follow the troubleshooting steps?here?to see if you encounter the same errors while in troubleshooting mode with just Site Kit active?

If you are unable to find a conflict with the steps above then this points to the issue being at host level and you may need to check your hosting setup and settings for anything that may be causing this.

@mrhighlight84 Just checking in once more to see if you still require assistance? Have you tried the troubleshooting steps above?

I followed the steps, but still ran into the same problem.

However I did find something strange. Site Kit installs perfectly on all of my subsites, but it won’t install on the main domain.

@mrhighlight84 Do your subsites share the same structure as your main site i.e. do they use the same plugins/theme etc?

Can you please share a recording of the experience? You can share this in private form also. I’d also like to check if you encounter the same when using an Incognito window?

    (@mrhighlight84)

My multisite structure is a subdirectory. The same issue is happening in incognito mode. My sites share the same plugins and theme.

Also I provided a video recording through the private link

@mrhighlight84 Thanks for sharing the information. This could be a mismatch on your site records that are stored on the Site Kit service. I have requested a check on the records to see if we can spot anything that would cause this to happen and if so we can reset these records or provide you with some next steps to follow.

Once I hear back from the check I will let you know here.

@mrhighlight84 Thank you very much for your patience with this while I awaited the check to be completed. During the check it was found that Analytics redirect URL was different to the rest of the URLs on record.

These have now been corrected so could I please ask you to try the Site Kit setup once more and let me know how you get on?

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to?open a new support topic?if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
