• Hello,

A few days ago my GCSE changed, I noticed that the uri which is supposed to be used for the results page is ignored:

instead of freefullpdf.com/search_gcse/gsc.tab… there is no longer search_gcse/ in the url.
However, the page exists, is active as requested in the plugin settings, there is no redirection.

The display is then completely different, since it “stays” with that of the home page.
Is there a solution to restore this tool?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • @sophiaknows , I am dealing with the same, I haven’t opened a ticket because the plugin seems abandoned. I believe there has been changes on Google’s end. If you don’t mind? Kindly paste in the shortcode(s) you are currently running on your /search_gcse/ page. Reason being, in trying to troubleshoot the issue my page was deleted, then was rough trying to get the plugin to regenerate another page and I believed I once had two shortcodes listed on the page.

    Hi @shirtguy72,

Here is the shortcode used in my page, the one provided by the plugin:

    [wp_google_search]

Hope it helps you in any way. If you find something please let me know, I try to figure it out with Goggle…

@sophiaknows, what I found was to basically dump the plugin, now I simply place the code from GCSE into an HTML widget Under Content on all my posts. I also delay the script from firing until user interaction, also, I set a Cloudflare Cache Rule to cache the js file on The CF Edge for one year.

    Hello,

Just so people with the same problem know, I abandoned the plugin as well. I’m using the GCSE script for a two page layout but I copied and pasted the plugin CSS (number 2 and 3), adding a div to the script with the plugin class and id, and some minor arrangements, it was better for me than rewriting everything. As far as I’m concerned, this works for me.
