I don’t know why it keeps happening, but my products keep disappearing from my subdomain, which was created to be my WooCommerce store. I’ll log back into my shop and they’ll normally come back without me doing anything, but then at some point, they just disappear and all my products become 404.

Because I don’t know when it happens and nothing I do fixes the issue, my shop has become useless.

I’ve tried contacting WooCommerce but they won’t do anything to help beyond telling me to disable one plugin at a time, but that doesn’t work because the act of logging into my shop more often than not fixes the issue, and because my products disappear at random, it’s impossible to find out which plugin could be an issue, although it’s likely the one with the issue is my WooCommerce plugin, given that this subdomain only exists to be a WooCommerce shop. Turning them all off one at a time and checking to see if the products are there doesn’t show a thing. They’re unwilling to give any additional support

    Hi there,

I don’t know why it keeps happening, but my products keep disappearing from my subdomain, which was created to be my WooCommerce store. I’ll log back into my shop and they’ll normally come back without me doing anything, but then at some point, they just disappear and all my products become 404.

I am sorry to hear that!

Have you tested with only WooCommerce installed with the Storefront theme?

I’d recommend creating a staging site for investigating the issue. If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging

Do you still see the issue? If yes, then I’d like to investigate this further.

Can you please share the System Status Report of your site on the conflict test condition? You’ll find it at the top of the page under WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Download for support (after you scroll down a bit). Once you have the System Status Report file, please add it to your reply.

Looking forward to hearing back from you to assist you further!

    Hi there,

    Thanks for getting back!

how will a staging site help if I can’t predict when my products will disappear and their links become 404?

what do you mean by “System Status Report of your site on the conflict test condition?”

I meant please share the System Status Report with only WooCommerce installed and with Storefront active.

If you do not see this issue with only WooCommerce and Storefront then it points out that something is affecting this – possibly a plugin/theme conflict.

I can’t predict when they’ll disappear so I can’t get a report of it happening in real time

Oh, I see. Thanks for clarifying. This sounds like a caching/permalinks issue on your or the server’s end.

Have you tried the below when you face the issue? If not, please try the below:

    1) Please try flushing the permalinks

    • Go to “Settings > Permalinks”
    • Click “Save Changes”
    • Permalinks and rewrite rules are flushed
    • Then check again if you are still facing the issue

    2) Caching

    • Please clear the cache and cookies of your browser or check from an incognito browser.
    • If you see the issue persists, please contact your host and ask them to clear your server cache

Even after this, if you see the issue comes back again. I’d like to see if the logs have any info about the error. Please go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and check for the most recent fatal error and share that with us here.

Please do let us know how it goes!

Again, making chances while I’m logged into my shop means the links will still display, and they’ll stay that way until a random point when they disappear.

So making changes to my Permalinks won’t make any difference, as I keep explaining about the issue. Also, what do you mean by “flushing“? Just making no changes and just re-saving them? If so, I did that the last time I reported this problem, and it didn’t help.

How will clearing the cache and cookies on my browser change the fact that everyone who visits my store gets 404 instead of my products? That only changes what I see, not what everyone else seems.

I only became aware of my products disappearing this time due to my Monster Insights plugin emailing me and telling me my top-performing pages are my 404 product pages

I’ve given you my recent logs today, after logging in today because all my products disappeared. Are you telling me there’s no information about the error in that log?

    Hi there,

    Welcome back!

So making changes to my Permalinks won’t make any difference, as I keep explaining about the issue. Also, what do you mean by “flushing“? Just making no changes and just re-saving them? If so, I did that the last time I reported this problem, and it didn’t help.

Oh okay. Thanks for letting us know that you tried flushing the permalinks but that did not help.

Also, thanks for clarifying on how the issue occurs.

I just reviewed your site and I see products are indeed displayed without any 404 error:

I’ve given you my recent logs today, after logging in today because all my products disappeared. Are you telling me there’s no information about the error in that log?

The details you shared earlier is the System Status Report and not logs.

The fatal error logs can be found under WooCommerce > Status > Logs as guided in the previous reply.

Based on the information I see on your System Status Report, I’ve observed that the “PHP Time Limit” for your website is currently set to 30 seconds.

It appears that certain plugins may be contributing to a sudden increase in your site’s memory consumption. In some cases, hosting services terminate requests that consume excessive memory, leading to a 404 error. Your situation seems to align with this scenario, as your products display correctly, but the issue arises sporadically.

To troubleshoot this, could you kindly deactivate any non-critical plugins? We recommend conducting tests with only essential plugins enabled and using the Storefront theme (that’s why recommend initially testing only with WooCommerce and Storefront theme since third-party plugins cause spikes in memory consumption). This will help determine if the issue persists under these conditions.

I’m not sure why you felt the need to tell me it’s not currently an issue, when I’ve told you that myself. Loggin back into my dashboard often fixes the issues and then at some point randomly in the future, all the product links will disappear again. It’s been a consistent problem. A problem that’s costing me money.

As I keep telling you, because I can’t predict when the products will disappear, deactivating certain plugins and changing my theme might not cause the products to disappear right away. It could happen in days, weeks, or even months. I have no way of knowing. And given that I created this subdomain to specifically be for the sole use of WooCommerce, the only plugins installed are the ones needed to make my store work

i uploaded the “The fatal error logs can be found under WooCommerce > Status > Logs as guided in the previous reply” already dumping all the date in the reply as I can’t upload a file to the forum. I did that exactly a day and 23 hours ago, so how come you’ve not looked at it if you keep telling me to give you something I’ve already given you?

Ah, I see. In that case, I’d recommend creating a staging site for investigating the issue.

If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging

Ensure that the staging site has only WooCommerce and the Storefront Theme activated. The next time you encounter the issue, check the staging site as well. If the 404 error is not present there, then there are two potential scenarios:

    • Issue is coming from one of the plugins/theme.
    • A sudden increase in your site’s memory consumption causes the host to terminate requests that consume excessive memory, leading to a 404 error

i uploaded the “The fatal error logs can be found under WooCommerce > Status > Logs as guided in the previous reply” already dumping all the date in the reply as I can’t upload a file to the forum. The error logs found under WooCommerce > Status > Logs are not present in your previous reply. You can check the same by reviewing your replies above. Only the System Status Report was shared above:

Can you please copy the recent fatal errors you see and paste them into your reply?

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

How do I get around the issue that the simple act of logging back into my dashboard usually causes the products to return, meaning they’d also likely return to the staging site as well before I could check it?

    Hi there,

How do I get around the issue that the simple act of logging back into my dashboard usually causes the products to return, meaning they’d also likely return to the staging site as well before I could check it?

The staging site is entirely independent and won’t be impacted when you log into the live site.

For this reason, we advise you to have only WooCommerce and the Storefront theme enabled on the staging site. Monitor the live site to identify when the issue occurs, and assess the staging site without logging in.

I see you shared a few logs, the logs are not related to WooCommerce but coming from other plugins.

Can you please check for the recent “fatal errors” logs?

Under WooCommerce > Status > Logs, in the top right corner, open the drop-down and find the most recent logs for fatal-error , then click view to load it. Please copy and paste those logs here in your reply.

Please reply with the above details on that thread so we have all the information in one place.

Looking forward to hearing back from you in the other thread ??
