Restricting capabilites by category

    I have a client who needs to create roles and restrict edit capacity based off categories in the blog and other CPTs. It looks like the pro version might be able to do that but the plugin author’s website is down and has been for 2+ weeks.

    Anyone have an ideas on how to accomplish what my client needs? Code in functions.php maybe?
