    Greetings,

we were sucessfully using the Event Tickets Plus plugin to manage ticket sales for our events. I noticed today that all the tickets for events from October onwards are gone, which coincides with the expiration of our license for the plugin. The FAQ (https://theeventscalendar.com/products/wordpress-event-tickets/) says: “However, that doesn’t mean you have to renew in order to keep using our products.”

We’re a bit confused now: Was the ticket data deleted because our license expired, or is there another reason? Is there any way to regain access to the data regarding sold tickets, as they’re quite important for our bookkeeping?

    Thank you!:)

    Martin

    Hi @maximumrizz

Sorry to hear about the trouble you had with this, that is actually quite odd as the site should not be acting this way even if the licenses have expired.

Were you planning on renewing the license at all? There are definitely some features you would not be able to keep using, were all of the tickets creating with WooCommerce?

If you were planning to renew and have, you can submit a ticket here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/

One thing I might try is to enable Tickets Commerce, create a test ticket under that and see if that shows up on the front end. Please let me know!

    Hi Truman,

thank you for your quick response! I checked and Tickets Commerce is enabled on our wordpress setup, but PayPal and Stripe aren’t setup, so I guess we were using WooCommerce, which we also have installed.

We’re currently not sure if we will renew the license. Presently, we’re most concerned with getting back the ticket data for our previous events. The participants column is only showing “-” in the event overview and the tickets section in the events detail page is empty: https://imgur.com/a/LtPxGuO

Do you have any other suggestions on how this can be resolved?

    Thank you,

    Martin

We have another event coming up next month, but in place of the usual ticket sales box, there is only this placeholder: [tribe_tickets_rsvp post_id=”9991″] [tribe_tickets post_id=”9991″]

For me, it looks like the ticket created for this event may have disappeared and as such isn’t displayed correctly on the events page anymore?

    Hi @maximumrizz

Thanks for getting back to me, this is really interesting I would not think an Expired license is suddenly going to remove this, it usually just means you can’t update it.

It sort of looks to me like Tickets were created in one E-Commerce solution and then it was disabled and you changed to another? Can you try disabling Tickets Commerce if that was not even enabled before? I believe when that is enabled, Event Tickets will default to that so that could be hiding your WooCommerce tickets.

As for the Ticket block shortcode, that is meant to display a set of tickets statically, it will not automatically change to anything if the event is over.

I would try disabling Tickets Commerce first and then see if that brings things back.

    Dear Truman,

thank you again for your support. As per your suggestion, I tried disabling Tickets Commerce through Tickets -> Settings -> Payments. WooCommerce appears to be set up correctly, and the PayPal integration is set up with our merchant ID, but when I try to create a new ticket with Tickets Commerce disabled, it says “no payment gateway is set up”! Apparently, that means there is some kind of issue with our WooCommerce setup?

Do you know why the shortcode [tribe_tickets_rsvp post_id=”9991″] [tribe_tickets post_id=”9991″] is displayed on the events page as intended, but not rendering the ticket sales box?

    Hi @maximumrizz

    Thanks for your message.

Could we ask for the URL of your event where the ticket is no longer working? Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Darian, thanks for checking in – this is the event page in question: https://august-bebel-institut.de/event/der-berliner-vorschlag-fuer-ein-neues-unesco-welterbe-ost-west-ost-werte-bedeutung-diskussion/

And here is a screenshot from our attempts to create a ticket:

    Hi @maximumrizz

    Thanks for your response.

One of the reasons could be that your Event Tickets PLUS is not compatible with your Event Tickets plugin.

Upon checking, the current version of your Event Tickets PLUS is v5.7.5 (outdated version), and Event Tickets is v5.7.0 (latest version).

I suggest downgrading your Event Tickets plugin if you still want it to be compatible with your Event Tickets PLUS and in order for the shortcode to work. The version you should use is Event Tickets v5.6.5.1

As always, please test it first in your staging site before applying to your live site.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi @maximumrizz,

I hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to touch base and check in with you. It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from you. I was just curious if you had the chance to try out the recommendation provided above.

Let me know if there’s anything I can assist you with.

Hi Darian, thank you for your advice. If I understand correctly, our Event Tickets PLUS v5.7.5 is incompatible with Event Tickets v5.7. As we can’t upgrade Event Tickets Plus, we instead tried downgrading Event Tickets to v5.6.5.1.

Unfortunately, this didn’t help: The plugin view in the wordpress backend is now prompting us to upgrade Event Tickets again to continue using the “The Events Calendar” plugin. Also, after downgrading, event details pages don’t work anymore and instead display the 404 page. Do you have any other advice we could try to get The Event Tickets plugin working again?

    (@sdokus)

Hi @maximumrizz – Can you please confirm that you are also using a compatible version of The Events Calendar? If you are using Event Tickets v5.6.5.1 and Event Tickets Plus v5.7, you should be using The Events Calendar version v6.2.3.2

Let me know if that makes sense and how it goes to adjust the version you are using.

    Thread Starter maximumrizz

    (@maximumrizz)

Dear sdokus, thank you for your suggestion to change the version of the Events Calendar plugin. I first tried upgrading it to the latest version 6.2.8.2, which unfortunately broke the site again – but your suggested version 6.2.3.2 did the trick! Finally, the tickets plugin is displaying correctly on the events details page!

Thank you so much for patiently walking me through the process, as I’m still quite unfamiliar with WordPress. Is there an overview online somewhere that we can refer to in the future to find out which Tribe plugin versions are compatible with each other?

However I just noticed we can’t create a free ticket anymore, they have to have a price. Is this feature not available in Event Tickets 5.6.5.1.

    Dear all,

we would like to upgrade our license now, but I can’t find which username or email we used on https://my.theeventscalendar.com/my-account/ to request a license key. Could you send it to us?
