MetaSlider slideshow keeps disappearing

Thanks for using MetaSlider. We’ll need more information to give precise feedback here. For example:

• Does the shortcode work when placed inside a post or page?
• Does the PHP snippet work in another theme?
• Do you have the correct syntax? It’s easy to make a mistake with ” ‘ and similar characters: https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/wordpress-do_shortcode

• The shortcode works when placed inside a page, but not as a slideshow. Looks like only the first photo displays.
• I haven’t tried it in another theme.
• Yes. I copied the code straight from the MetasSider website: https://www.metaslider.com/docs/how-to-add-metaslider/

If only the first photo displays, this maybe a problem with a caching or optimization plugin. We’ve got a full troubleshooting guide, and that’s Step 7: https://www.metaslider.com/docs/troubleshooting/

All photos are showing as a slide show. The code is randomly removed from the theme file editor header php section every week and I have to add it in again every time. I don’t know why.

Hi @carlammm Please look to see if anything is updating your theme or theme files each week. Our MetaSlider plugin won’t be updating your theme files.

How do I know/check if it is?

There’s no easy way to tell this without knowing more about your deployment system.

This may be also be related to a WordPress 6.2 bug. Shortcodes on templates are removed on WordPress 6.2 onwards as mentioned here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wordpress-v6-2-1-breaks-the-shortcode-block-in-templates/
