Hi, I’m not sure what may have changed as I think this was working but now I’ve discovered that it’s not. I followed the support docs, including enabling the video extension, but the videos in this gallery will not play – the cursor is only the magnifying glass for the image thumbnail.

  • Hello, what version of Modula Video do you have ?

If it is not 1.0.11 can you please update to 1.0.11 ?

Hi George, thanks for the prompt response. Everything appears to be up-to-date:

    • Video Extension 1.0.11
    • Video Plugin 1.0.6
    • Modula Plugin 2.7.9
    • Modula Pro 2.6.6
    • And my license is current.

I created an image in the gallery and added the Video Link and Thumbnail, and in the gallery’s settings the video Display Play Button is on, and I also put on the iOS Autoplay.

Is there somewhere else that I need to check? WordPress is 6.4.1 and PHP on the server is 8.2.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hello,

From https://www.comsigns.ca/wp-content/plugins/modula-video/changelog.txt your changelog it seems like you don’t have the latest version.

Can you please double check for me ?

Thanks George, that worked. I didn’t realize that the plugins do not indicate that there’s a newer version from WP’s backend, and that I have to manually update each of them.

So I guess a person has to periodically check what are the latest versions and compare them what each site has, is that right?

I’m not that experienced but using Modula seems somewhat complicated, and it would be easier if everything, extensions as well as, were all included in one plugin, at least for those of us who have the paid version.

Thank you for your help, George.

@jklwebsites – WordPress updates are run on a cron job so that means your server checks for updates, in the background, and notifies you when an update is readily available. Each hosting company sets these up differently, depending on their infrastructure.

Even if Modula were delivered as a single ZIP, you’d still have to enable/disable certain “modules” (extensions) – almost no one uses ALL of our extensions at the same time so, installing only the ones you need, makes most sense when you deliver them separately.

This model, while a bit more confusing, allows us to deliver individual updates to each extension (not to mention all the benefits that our development team gets from this by being able to work on different extensions w/o any code collisions.).

    /Cristian.
