I find when I add something such as BOLD to my posts it appears to take okay right there in the course of the edit but when I publish it doesn’t come out on the published page.

I am using the classic editor.
    Any help, any ideas?

Can you share a URL with an example of the text that’s meant to be bold and let us know what text is meant to be bolded?

Hi… and thanks. Yep, the url would be

    https://abrogard.com/blog/2023/11/19/the-youth-of-today/

and the line i’ve written ‘this text meant to be bold’

To be clear: it IS bold when I edit. But as soon as I ‘publish’ or ‘update’ it loses it.

Try deactivating plugins one at a time and see if you can get it to work.

And you have invalid HTML, because of Simple Share Buttons Adder plugin. Maybe start by deactivating that one first:

Thanks for that. I deactivated that plugin. Don’t know why it was activated, it’s not the one that is doing the work. For the buttons remained after deactivating it.

Apparently it is ‘sharethisshare’ buttons addon that’s doing the job. I’ve just been playing with it but I can’t get it to stop putting two buttons for every choice. Ah well.

But what fixed it was was switching off that editor. The ‘classic editor’ plugin. That’s not really fixing it is it? It’s avoiding it. But good enough.

I don’t do much. I can make do with this editor, today’s standard.

So I guess that’ll do it. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated. ??
