• I am new to WordPress so please keep that in mind:

Whenever I create a new page and write the content, the name of the page changes to the name of the post I’ve just written. How can I create pages with static names that allow me to make mulitple posts on that page?

For example: if I name a page “Take Time to Relax” I want that name to never change and I want to be able to make multiple posts on an ongoing basis that deal with relaxing.

    Thanks everyone

  • There isn’t a way to ‘associate’ posts to Pages. You could consider using categories on your posts, then create a Page and use a plugin such as https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/list-category-posts/ to list posts in a particular category on a particular page.

Like I said, I’m new to this – so I don’t fully understand what you mean about using categories.

    Thanks

I’m pretty new too. However, I found a video that explains taxonomies. A new word 4 most of us – but it will help to explain some of the ideas behind categories. Setting things up correctly right from the beginning will allow you to do a much better job of organizing your posts. As well, if you understand categories and taxonomies from the beginning, you will set things up in a way that will assist your readers in finding specific groups of posts that they are wanting to read.

The video should be a big help:

    Aries –

In my work on another subject, I realized that this might be of benefit to you re: your pages. Since you’re new – I don’t know if you r familiar with the templates that people create (and sell). They r in addition to the regular templates you can buy. I found a great template for $30 at themeforest.com. Anyway, I mention this because the guy who created the template assists newbies like us. He’ll answer questions (of course not too many questions…).

Anyway, check ouot this page – he covers the topic of ‘custom category page.’ It might help:

Might also want to review WordPress Semantics to get an idea of some of the basic concepts of WordPress.
