    Dear WP-Support Team,

I’m afraid we’re still experiencing problems here:

About every couple of weekends, our SMTP password gets deleted from our settings, and then emails don’t get sent. It has happened twice now; we’ve had to reset the password and send the missed emails out manually.

Neither did we change the SALT keys manually, nor can Succuri do that.

Other plugins keep the password (but can’t encrypt it), whereas for us it’s empty.

What else could cause the password to be invalidated?

It always happens on the weekend.

    Could

    • plugin conflicts,
    • configuration issues in wp-config,
    • server-side caching issues,
    • database issues or
    • updates to WordPress / FluentSMTP or unrelated plugins

    cause this problem?

What is happening here? Can you help?

    Best,

    Franz

    Hello there,

Fluent SMTP encrypts the key in the database, and looks like your websites’ salt is changing hence your password is becoming invalid. You can check the plugin conflict by temporarily disabling all the plugins in the staging website and check which plugin is causing the issue.

    Thank you
