    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We’ll look into it. Could you please specify if you have encountered any specific issues while using the plugin with PHP 8.3?

    Thanks,
    Yann

Thanks Yann. I’m unable to provide any feedback because Twentig prevents me from upgrading to PHP8.3, and I don’t have access to error logs sorry.

I’m unable to upgrade beyond PHP8.1.

    Shane.

    Hi Shane,

Could you please send a screenshot of the notice indicating that the Twentig plugin is preventing the upgrade to PHP 8.3?

WordPress recommends using PHP 8.1 or 8.2 for WordPress 6.4 (see https://www.ads-software.com/news/2023/10/wordpress-6-4s-php-compatibility/). We are using PHP 8.2 on our website without any issues.

    Hi Yann,

I was also unable to upgrade to 8.2.

This is the error returned –

    Hi Shane,

We have prepared a beta version for the next release, which aims to resolve the PHP issue. Please download the zip file from the following link: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/twentig.1.7.2-beta.1.zip.

Once downloaded, navigate to your WordPress dashboard and go to Plugins > Add New. Click on the ‘Upload Plugin’ button at the top, upload the file, and then click ‘Install Now’.

After installation, please check if the error message has disappeared.

    Thanks,
    Yann

Yann will the beta version load the settings of my existing version?

Yes, it’s just like a regular update.

    Hi Yann,

I installed the update, and checked the plugin’s version had changed. Unfortunately I was still unable to upgrade to PHP8.2 or 8.3.

I don’t have direct access to debug output, and would need to request it from my hosting company. Let me know if you need me to.

    Thanks,
    Shane.

    Hi Shane,

Do you see a message explaining why you can’t upgrade to PHP 8.3? If not, having the debug output would indeed help, as we are unable to reproduce this issue on our side.

    Thanks,
    Yann

You can close this off now thanks Yann – my site’s hosting company have been able to upgrade my site to PHP8.3 while using your plugin, and all seems well. There seems to have been some confusion their end.

    Thanks for your replies,

    Shane.

P.S. – I’m still using your beta version btw. I suspect I should continue to do so until there’s an update?

    Hi Shane,

Glad you managed to upgrade your site to PHP 8.3.

Sorry, I didn’t see your P.S. You can update to 1.8.1 which includes the fix for the PHP 8.3 compatibility issue.

    Have a nice day,
    Yann
