I am using the Twenty-Twenty Three theme on WordPress and have been setting up the Template for each single post to pull through with the same set formatting and styles etc.

I would like my chosen Featured Image for each post that I do to pull through as the background image behind the post almost like a watermark behind the content.

I can see how to add a Background Image in the post template area but this would be the same image for all the posts and I want each posts Featured Image to be used as the Background Image instead.

I have troubleshooted this in all different ways. So far the Featured Image just appears at the top of each post as a large header when I want it to be the cover the complete background of the post area with a reduced opacity.

Any help would be greatly appreciated please?

    Many thanks,

  • Hey @insights2perception! You can edit your ‘Single Post’ Template by going to Appearance > Editor , then to Templates, and replace the Group block with a cover block. The cover block will let you set its background as the featured image. (I’m putting in two screenshots below showing this)

    Hi @properlypurple,

Been away from computer over Christmas and New Year and just got back online today.

First thing I did was try this and WOW!

Thank you so much, you made it really clear step by step as to how to achieve what I had been searching for weeks to do.

I really appreciate your time in helping me do this, great stuff!

Can I keep this topic open whilst I tweak the results just in case I need any further advice regarding this please?

    Thanks again,
