• I’ve just installed the twenty-twenty-four theme and I’m trying to figure out if its possible top create multiple sidebars and then show a specific sidebar on certain pages?

Going forward I’ll pobably need about 1 differnt sidebar for every 10 posts. Is that possible? Or is it only possible by using a plugin?
I’ve already created a sidebar but have yet to install that on a post (still trying to figure out how to do that) any help with this is also appreciated.

  • My approach would be to create CUSTOM TEMPLATES with the appropriate sidebars and apply those templates to individual posts and/or pages as desired. As the Twenty Twenty-For theme is a full-site editing theme, you can easily create these custom templates from Site Editor… no plugin or coding required.

How did you create this sidebar? Where in WordPress?

Thanks for your reply George, to create the template I went to editor – template – single with sidebar and then created the sidebar there.

But now I don’t know how to actually get that sidebar to show on the posts.

Also, in this theme is there a way to get a wider display on desktop? I don’t want to expand full screen, but currently I have about 25% of blank space on either side.

I was using Ocean-wp theme before deciding to try this and it’s a bit confusing because I was used to using widgets to create sidebars which really takes a lot of time because there is no way to have a template with those widgets

Also, what do you mean by custom templates? I will be using pretty much the same layout for all the posts. The only difference will be the sidebar which will be different.

If this thing works I think I will be creating about 1 sidebar for every 10 or 15 posts. But not not sure if that is good or if it will be too heavy
