Trouble creating links in event description

While creating or editing an event description, when I add a link to some text, I usually want that link to open in a new tab. When I click on the link options button a popup appears. I check the “open link in new tab” checkbox, but I’m unable to click on the “update” button. It is partially obscured, but clicking on it does nothing. Clicking on the “cancel” button also does nothing. I have to use the “X” in the upper right corner to get out of the popup. I am, therefore, unable to set the link to open in a new tab.
