    Hi,

I’m using free versions of FooGallery and FooBox plugins for several years and like them for their flexibility. But there is one issue I can’t overcome. When I open the page with the responsive image gallery and click on the image, for example the left upper one, the lightbox (Lightbox/General tab, Lightbox = FooBox) displays a caption getting it from the Caption attribute assigned in the Media Library. In my case this attribute is set to “The Reader. 2005. 70x90cm, mixed media on canvas”. But if I fill any value in the Description attribute (e.g. “NOTHING PERSONAL”), the lightbox begins to get the caption from this field.

I’ve tried to change settings in Lightbox tab by assigning “Lightbox Caption Source” = “Override”, with “Override Caption Title” = “Attachment Caption” and “Override Caption Desc.” = “None”, but it nevertheless takes the caption from the Description attribute. I’m planning to use this attribute for another purpose, so my question is how to make the lightbox use the Caption attribute and ignore the Description attribute?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @victorgodg

Analysing the FooGallery gallery in the page you shared with us, I have observed that you are using FooBox as the lightbox.

Kindly navigate to FooBox > Settings and on the “Captions” tab, then scroll to the “Override Image Caption Title” and “Override Image Caption Description” options and select your preferred options then save changes.

Kindly try this and let us know how it goes.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.

    Hi @elviiso,

Thank you for recommendations, but in the FooBox plugin’s Settings I have no “Captions” tab, there are only “General” and “Advanced” tabs without such controls. As for the FooGallery plugin it has Lightbox settings for a concrete gallery, and when I navigate to Lightbox/General tab and select “Lightbox” = “FooGallery Lightbox” then the Captions tab contains controls “Override Caption Title” and “Override Caption Desc.” and they work properly. But if I select “Lightbox” = “FooBox” then the Captions tab becomes empty and the only available control is located on the main Lightbox tab – it’s a “Lightbox Caption Source” which I described in the first message.

    Hi?@victorgodg

The “Captions” tab, among other tabs and settings/features, is available in the premium version of FooBox, FooBox Pro and it would have enabled you to override the image caption attribute used to your preferred attribute.

Kindly clarify to me if the issue persists when you set the title and description options to “Default” as shown in the linked image: https://prnt.sc/3yTabAJW3gNQ

    Thanks.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.

    Hi @elviiso,

With settings as shown in the linked image the FooBox ligthbox displays a proper value (e.g. “The Reader. 2005. 70x90cm, mixed media on canvas” taken from the Сaption attribute). Just for your information, my default settings (“FooGallery Settings/General” tab) are: Caption Title Source = “Attachment title”, Caption Description Source = “Attachment Caption”. But in this case the hover label contains both title and caption (e.g. “The Reader” and below “The Reader. 2005. 70x90cm, mixed media on canvas”) while I would prefer to display only the title.

    Best regards,
    Victor

I’ve switched to the built-in FooGallery lightbox and everything works fine. Thank you.
