I have generated static files in a zip. Which I am retrieving from the simply-static upload diretory, since there was no sign of how to export the file to any other location. Can the files in this zip be hosted in a sub-directory on a hosting service like SiteGround? Can I just unzip the files and place them in the sub-directory, since I have chosen the relative path file reference for the export?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hey @dwoliver,

    sure that will work.

You can also use “Local Directory” as the deployment method and export to a subdirectory directly – just make sure the directory exists and is writeable on the server.

There are a couple of downsides to this, but nothing groundbreaking:

    • you need to handle DNS mapping yourself (pointing the domain to the subdirectory
    • manage caching/performance-related settings via .htaccess/nginx.conf, as Siteground will only cover them for WP

    Cheers,
    Patrick
