I want to create a portfolio page.

This would be a scrollable list of our projects (incl. title, location, year, photo). Click on a project and be taken to a project page (incl. title, location, year, gallery, description).

How best to achieve this using the Block Editor?

I’ve used the Posts feature in WP, giving each project post a Category (“project”). I’ve then created a Projects page template with the Block Editor which calls up these posts using “Latest Posts” Block (set to the projects category only). Each post page uses the Single Posts template, which I’ve edited to my liking.

The problem is that I can’t edit the appearance and layout of the Latest Posts block. Is there another way to call up the ‘project’ posts that gives me control over portfolio page layout in the Block Editor?

what do you want to change about the layout and appearance of your projects?

have you tried the QUERY LOOP BLOCK? I find that it’s very flexible for display of posts and custom post types.

Ah yes I see, thank you. I want to change the layout of everything really.

Post List also appears to be a option. Do you prefer Query Loop over Post List?

I haven’t used WordPress for years and this is the first time I’m learning how to use Blocks.
