    Have set up DMARC for a domain where we use MailPoet for newsletters.

    Your system is tagging a DMARC record that is set up with reporting as invalid.

    The DNS record in question is:
    _dmarc.example.com
    v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:[email protected]
    (I have anonymised the email used for reporting)

    It seems like the only record that your system think is valid is v=DMARC1; p=none;

    You should probably look into that, DMARC should be used for reporting and for extra security. So suggesting that “v=DMARC1; p=none;” is the only right way to set it up is very strange.

    Hi @jarledb,

    Thanks for bringing this to our attention! It does seem to me like your DMARC record here is perfectly valid and should not fail MailPoet validation.

    I’ve brought this scenario to the attention of our development team to take a look, and will update you when we have a response with their thoughts and suggestions here.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Hi again @jarledb,

    The development team confirms that any extra fields added to your DMARC record are fine and should pass validation, as long as they conform to the standards. You can find a good reference here:
    https://dmarcly.com/blog/everything-about-a-dmarc-record

    They dug a little deeper into your DMARC settings and looking at the ones on your domain (as listed on your profile), they spotted the fact that you have two spaces between the v=DMARC1; parameter and the p=none; parameter.

    Our code only allows for 0 or 1 space between parameters and this is likely why your DMARC record is failing validation.

    We double checked and the RFC doesn’t strictly require 0 or 1 space between parameters so we have raised an internal issue and will be altering our validation test to allow for multiple spaces between parameters. However, in the meantime, you should be able to edit your DMARC to remove that extra space, and keep your rua definition, and still have it pass validation.

    Please let us know if that doesn’t work!

    Hi there @ahmetakdel,

    I checked your domain in our system, and it is showing as passed verification. Hopefully this means you were able to get your DMARC field set up properly and that it’s working now.

    If you are still seeing issues, please open a new post in the forum so we can work on and track your issue separately.

    Thank you!

    Hi @fouzlotfi,

    I double checked your domain in our system, liberlibra.com, and it is now showing as fully verified. As domain changes like this can take up to 48 hours to spread through the internet and reach our servers, it was possibly just a timing issue.

    I am going to mark this thread as solved at this time. Should you require more assistance with your domain, please open a fresh thread in our support forum so we can assist you individually.
