While doing my year-end reports for taxes, I have an issue with “Net Sales”. It seems the Net Sales total does not exclude merchant processing fees. I see the transaction fee when I drill down to each individual order. Is there a way to get a true Net Sales report that accounts for the various processing fees? Am I missing something?

    Hi @53buick,

Currently, WooCommerce reports do not automatically deduct processing fees from the Net Sales. They are designed to show the amount customers paid, not the amount you received after fees.

However, you can manually calculate the true Net Sales by subtracting the total processing fees from the Net Sales total. The processing fees can be found in the details of each individual order.

Additionally, you can use an additional plugin like Sales Report for WooCommerce, WooCommerce Report, or Product Sales Report for WooCommerce.

I hope this clarifies your concern. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you for the reply and explanation. I tried each of those plugins but I didn’t find any “processing fees” in the reports generated by them.

Is there a way to get a total of the processing fees so that I might subtract from the Net sales total? As of now it looks as though I will have to go to each order to decipher as I accept PayPal, Square, and Woo payments all of which have different processing fees. Additionally are there plans to get true Net Sales for Woocommerce reports?

    Hi there @53buick ??

There’s a different approach to things, as I gather.

I accept PayPal, Square, and Woo payments all of which have different processing fees

Just to be sure, did you already have a change to inquire with the payment gateways used at your store, if they can provide a total for the fees collected in a set period of time, instead, perhaps?

That way, the sum of those fees would need to be subtracted from the net sales total.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know.

    We’re happy to help.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I understand to get a true Net would be to gather the sum of the fees and subtract that from the Net Sales amount. My issue in this case would be that I would have to go to each order to determine the processing fee. Some orders were processed using PayPal. Some were processed with Woo payments, And others were processed with Square. All of which have different processing fee amounts. The only way to get a total would be to manually go to each order and add them all up. (there’s a lot of orders) It would be great it this could be totaled automatically in a report within Woocommerce.

    Hey @53buick!

That’s a great idea. While, as we mentioned, this is not possible to do at the moment, you can submit a feature request here.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help.

    Have a wonderful day!
